What
can you
use?
What
could those
old floorboards,
fence posts
and palings,
pallets,
wine barrels,
railway
sleepers,
stair treads,
house framing
and so on
be transformed
into? It
can rustic
or refined,
feral or
fluid, earthy
or elegant,
old fashioned
or contemporary,
domestic
or corporate,
indoor or
outdoor—or
your style!
You can
incorporate
other materials
or recyclables,
so long
as recycled
wood is
the main
material
your piece
is made
of. In some
cases it
may be possible
to ‘re-make’
an entire
piece of
furniture!
What
is eligible?
Join,
turn, carve
and embellish
as you wish.
Furniture,
boxes, turnings
and sculpture
are all
eligible
as long
as they
are made
from recycled
or salvaged
material.
Work that
has previously
been published
in AWR is
not eligible.
What
are the
judges looking
for?
Entries
will be
judged by
photographic
submission.
Skillful
making and
design will
be appreciated,
as will
originality.
Your piece
may or may
not reveal
the origins
of the material
it is made
from.

Selected
entries
will be
featured
in the March
2009 edition
of AWR and
may win
one of the
prizes shown!
How
to enter
Complete
the form
and post
to the address
below along
with a CD
of 6 to
8 high resolution
images of
your piece,
including
one of yourself
with the
piece. Include
an extra
image of
the recycled
material/object
you used
prior to
making if
you wish.
