‘In 2005 I was a student in the Diploma of Art, Craft and Design at TAFE and our teacher gave us a brief to construct an object of our own design, but with some specific requirements he wanted us to demonstrate and perform. Initially I was going to make a Chinese piece until I spoke to my sister about my design and so it grew into a more contemporary item. I like the flowing lines found in nature, thus the curved mountain-like top back section, rather than lots of right angles everywhere.’
