The competition is open
to students in Years
11 and 12 in 2011.
There are four awards:
• Overall Best
• Best Display
of Hand Skills
• Best use of Native
Timbers
• Best Turned or
Carved Piece.

THE
CHALLENGE
Work will be judged on quality of hand and machine work, design, functionality and best use of materials. Wood should be the main material used however manufactured wood products and other materials may be used.
Selected entries will be featured in the December 2011 issue of AWR.
YOUR
ENTRY
Entries will be judged by photographic submission so quality images are an absolute must. Post a CD/DVD of up to 8 high quality high resolution digital images of each entry along with a completed entry form for each applicant.
Images of work should be photographed on a neutral background. Focus and lighting is critical. Work should be well lit with no glare or reflection on wood surfaces. Include full and detail views and a photo of the student with his or her piece.
Images must not be manipulated or ‘photoshopped’ in any way. Schools may enter CDs with multiple entries—these should include separate folders labelled ‘surname, name’ of each student.

DEADLINE
Your
entry must arrive at the AWR office
no later than September 30, 2011. The
December issue of AWR will feature
award winners and selected entries.
